The more that I look at the Castle yDNA project, the more confused I get. FG#8 is a group with two members in it. James Stapleton is an autosomal dna match to me. He matches men with surname Stapleton: Charles Homer, Michael Vaughn, Michael James, Ray D. And one man with Castle surname: James Travis Castle. I bought Travis's kit and Travis does not match the Castle FG#2 that has paper trail to Jacob Castle the longhunter.
James Stapleton's daughter also has a dna kit on MyHeritage and she is a match to me in exactly the same place that I match James Stapleton. So I looked through the list of autosomal dna matches that James Stapleton's daughter and I match in the same place. And I found one that has a really nice big tree.
And this new information does not help me become less confused. I see several places where James Stapleton and I might find our common ancestor.
